Security forces cornered two to three terrorists in Jammu’s Sidra this morning after heavy gunfire was heard in the Sidra area of Jammu this morning.
All three terrorists are believed to have been killed in the encounter, according to some reports, as shooting stopped at the site of the exchange.
The entire area has been cordoned off and traffic along the highway has been stopped.
Two to three terrorists were involved in the shootout that broke out at about 7:30 a.m., police said.
A major terrorist attack was averted yesterday in Udhampur, near Jammu, after police defused a 15kg improvised explosive device (IED).
A major terror plan was averted by the discovery of cylindrical IEDs, 300-400 grams of RDX, seven 7.62mm cartridges and five detonators in the Pasangar area, officials said.
The police also recovered code sheets and letter pages from the terrorist group Lashkarta (LeT) and detained a suspect.
