Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said on Saturday the identity of gangster Goldy Brar, the mastermind in the murder of singer Sidhu Moose Wala detained in the United States, remains “top secret”. “We are in touch with the FBI,” Mr. Mann said in an exclusive interview with NDTV.

“We will come to an understanding very soon. This is a foreign country and we have to abide by their laws … We cannot give more details now, this is top secret,” added the AAP leader, who has Nine months in power now.

He added that state authorities were coordinating with international agencies to bring him to justice, while opposition parties and parts of the media claimed that Goldy Brar may not have been detained.

“Law and order are under control,” Mr Mann said to another question.

“You have to understand that Punjab is a border state. From [Pakistan] On the other hand, even drones are being used to deliver illegal items, such as weapons,” he added.

Satinder Singh alias Goldy Brar, Part of the gang that led Lawrence Bishnoi to escape from prison was behind the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala in May, police say.

In a dig at his rivals, he said, “Talk about ‘gangster culture’ – that hasn’t developed in the last seven or eight months. Those responsible for that are now claiming to keep a close eye on what the law and order situation is.”

The chief minister also refuted the rivals, especially the BJP, on the “culture of free”.

He said Subsidy funds can be generated By plugging loopholes and ending corruption, and citing the “example” of the Delhi government led by AAP boss Arvind Kejriwal. “He showed how to build a bridge within Rs 1.5 crore with a budget of Rs 3.5 crore. His savings of Rs 200 crore can be used for free medicine in Delhi,” he claimed.

“300 free units (electricity) are not ‘revdi’. When we tax the public, we should give it back in some form,” he argued.

“If Prime Minister Modi calls it ‘free ki revdi’ so who sold ‘Papad’ “Rs 1.5 lakh in every Indian’s bank account?” he added, referring to Narendra Modi’s pledge to bring back black money.
