At a traffic light in Jabalpur, cameras caught dramatic scenes as a city bus crashed into several vehicles after the driver died of a heart attack. The rickshaw and motorcycle were run over, killing one and injuring several others, police said.

Police sources said it could have been worse, but the bus was relatively slow and the low floor ensured that those it was dragging would not be crushed underneath. The bus overturned after hitting the electric rickshaw.

Six people, including bus passengers and two children on the electric rickshaw, were seriously injured, police said. An elderly man who was hit by a bus has died during treatment; identity details were not immediately available.

Driver Hardev Pal, 60, has worked for the City Metro bus service for ten years. Sudden cardiac arrest killed him and he fell over the wheel leading to tragedy.
