On Sunday, England became the first team to host both the Over 50 Cricket World Cup and the Over 20 World Cup. The achievement came after Jos Buttler’s side beat Pakistan in a tense T20 World Cup final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Following the result, legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram highlighted some of the mistakes Pakistan made in the final. Akram felt that while the team was playing well, the batting method was not up to par. He also pointed to a number of skipper mistakes that put the game back in England’s favour.

“A total of 137 is never enough at this track. We made a lot of mistakes in batting. In the end, we played well. Shaheen’s injury did have an impact because he didn’t bat twice. Some captain issues exist, especially when Moeen Ali comes out to bat. I think they Iftikhar should bowl there,” Akram say in sports.

In the final, starring Ben Stokes and Sam Curran, England narrowly beat Pakistan by five wickets.

Jos Buttler’s team took down Pakistan 137-8 in front of 80,462 party fans at MCG, match player and tournament Curran 3/12, Adil Rashid 2/22 .

In response, England fell 49-3 in the sixth innings as they struggled to gain any momentum against a fiery speed attack and struggled to reach the boundaries.

But Stokes (52 not out) and Moe Alli (19) used their experience and cool heads to lead England to a six-goal victory.
