Indian cricket’s semi-final loss to England at the 2022 T20 World Cup has dampened cricket sentiment in the Asian subcontinent as many fans look forward to a potential India-Pakistan final. Shoib Akhtar, one of the greatest Pakistani cricketers of all time, posted a video on social media criticizing the Indian team after Rohit Sharma & Co. were humiliated by England. Akhtar even said that Pakistan is looking forward to facing India in the summit clash, but that is no longer possible.

Akhtar slammed the quality of his team’s cricket at the Adelaide Oval as he assessed the way India played against England.Akhtar also questioned why Youzvindra Chahal Haven’t played a single game for the team at the T20 World Cup.

“It was a very embarrassing loss for India. They played very badly and they deserved to lose. They didn’t deserve to advance to the final. India were beaten badly. Their bowling was exposed badly. Bowling and India don’t have fast pacers. I don’t know why they didn’t play Uzvindra Chahar in one match. India’s team selection is confusing,” he said.

Akhtar even said that the Indian team lacked the aggression needed to win the game on the day.

“It was a very bad day for India as they put their heads down after a failed throw. Indians held their arms high as England batted in the first five. At least, India should try to fight , maybe the bowlers could have bowled around the wicket and sent some bouncers. There was no aggression from the Indian side,” he added.

Finally, Akhtar said Hardik Pandia Soon to be captain of the Indian team in the shortest form.

“Indian cricket has a lot to think about and now that Hardik Pandya is an emerging captain in New Zealand, he has the opportunity to become a permanent member,” concluded the retired speed bowler.
