KCR provides video supporting MLA's poaching charges against BJP: 10 points

The KCR accused the BJP of trying to poach MLAs from his party.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, or KCR as he is known, held an unexpected news conference on Thursday and showed a series of videos that he said supported his party’s MLA poaching allegations against the BJP.

Here are 10 recent developments in this story:

  1. KCR showed the four MLAs of his Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party who allegedly thwarted an attempt to buy them out, with KCR claiming he had more than an hour of hidden camera footage involving the BJP. He played a five-minute tape at the press conference.

  2. The reference was to an incident at a farmhouse in Telangana last week that sparked a political storm in the state ahead of Thursday’s crucial vote to test his party as it prepares to go national.

  3. The KCR said the videos proved that the meeting at the farmhouse was a poaching operation, as the broker mentioned Federal Home Minister Amit Shah “20 times”, Prime Minister Modi “three times” and Khaled Changes in government in Nataka.

  4. The charges against the BJP or any leader of the party concerned have not been proven, despite the chief minister’s charges and charges against the three men arrested in the case.

  5. Asking the judiciary to “save the country,” the KCR said he would send the video to the top justices of the Supreme Court, the High Court and opposition leaders. He claimed the BJP was trying to overthrow the governments of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan.

  8. Three people – one of them a businessman – were arrested. Ramachandra Bharati aliases Satish Sharma, Nanda Kumar and Simhayaji Swamyat have been sent to prison for 14 days.

  9. On Wednesday, Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA pilot Rohith Reddy has lodged a police complaint alleging that Ramachandra Bharati and Nanda Kumar, both of whom belong to the BJP, met him and offered him Rs 100 crore to join the BJP.

  10. They also threatened to bring criminal charges against them through central agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation if they did not comply, the complaint said.
