Eknath Shinde welcomes Champa Singh Thapa to his Sena faction.

Champa Singh Thapa and Moreshwar Raje on Monday served former Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray for almost 30 years at his residence “Matoshree”, joining a faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Thapa was a trusted assistant to the Senna chief, helping him with his day-to-day household chores, serving him for 27 years before the elder Thackeray passed away in November 2012.

So much so that Sena President Udhaf Thackeray acknowledged his service by having Thapa by his side when performing the final rites of the senior Thackeray.

Thapa would answer calls from senior Thackeray and pass his message on to anyone who called him.

Raje also answered calls from Bal Thackeray at “Matoshree”, who has lived at Thackeray’s residence in Bandra, a suburb of Mumbai, for at least 35 years.

MLA Chief Minister Shinde from Thane welcomed Thapa and Raje by offering shawls and greeting them.

“At this auspicious time in Navarratri, everyone is happy that the holiday restrictions (related to the pandemic) have been lifted. People are very enthusiastic, it’s an hour’s need,” he said, adding that Thapa And the addition of Raj, who is like Balthacry’s shadow, adds to the festivities.

Shinde said the two decided to join his faction because he represents the “real” Shiv Sena and is advancing the teachings of the Sena founder and Hinduism.

“Barasaheb used to be outspoken and outspoken. People knew Barasaheb well, so they did not accept Senna’s alliance with Congress and the National Congress Party under Maha Vikas Aghadi,” he said.
