Actor Jacqueline Fernandez gets court relief in Rs 200 crore extortion case – Flying Journals

Actor Jacqueline Fernandez was granted a provisional bail of Rs 50,000 at Patiala Court in Delhi today.She has appeared in court as a defendant, with Rs 2 billion extortion case Related to so-called con man Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Her lawyer made a bail request. She was reported to have sneaked into the courtroom disguised as a lawyer, wearing a white shirt and black trousers.

The next hearing date is October 22 this year.

The Bureau of Enforcement has filed a supplemental charge sheet with the Money Laundering Prevention Act court listing her as a defendant.

Noting the charge sheet, the court has ordered Jacqueline to appear in court on September 26.

The actor had earlier been summoned by Delhi Police twice for questioning over his alleged role in the case. She is accused of accepting gifts worth trillions of dollars while Sukesh is being held at Tihar prison and under investigation for money laundering.

She has also been summoned several times by the Education Department to investigate the matter.

Meanwhile, a lawyer appearing at the Delhi Police Economic Crimes Unit (EOW) who is also investigating the same case informed the court that Jacqueline Fernandez was recently requested to appear in court on August 29, 2022, but she did not appear, so they A new subpoena was issued to her to take part in the investigation. The actor’s lawyer has assured her that she will join the investigation and cooperate with the investigating agency.

Last week, Ms Fernandez’s stylist, Leepakshi Ellawadi, was questioned by the Economic Crimes Unit of Delhi Police for nearly eight hours in connection with the case.

During interrogation, Leepakshi Ellawadi admitted that she was aware of the relationship between Jacqueline Fernandez and Sukesh Chandrashekhar, an official claimed.

The official said Sukesh Chandraskar had contacted Ms Ellawadi for her advice on the brand of clothes the Bollywood actor was wearing to appeal to her.

She also told police that Jacqueline Fernandez cut all contact with Sukesh Chandrashka as soon as news of his arrest broke, police said.

Investigations revealed that Chandrashekhar offered Ms Fernandez’s agent Prashant a motorcycle on her birthday, but he refused to accept it. Nonetheless, Chandrashekhar left the two-wheeler and its keys at Prashant’s place, police had said earlier. They added that the car was confiscated.

Chandrashekhar, who is currently in jail here, is accused of defrauding a number of people, including high-profile figures such as Aditi Singh, wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh.

Ms Fernandez and another Bollywood actor, Nora Fattahi, received luxury cars and other expensive gifts from him, according to the ED.
