The wife of Indian national Sarabjit Singh, who was killed in a Pakistani prison in 2013, died on Monday.
Singh’s wife, Sukhpreet Kaur, was the back seat rider of a two-wheeler when she accidentally fell from the vehicle near Fatehpur here, police said.
They said she was taken to the hospital, where she took her last breath.
Her cremation will take place at Bhikhiwind in her hometown of Tarn Taran on Tuesday.
She leaves behind two daughters, Poonam and Swapandeep Kaur.
In June, Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur, who spoke out on different forums to get her brother out of prison, died of chest pains.
Sarabjit Singh (49) died in April 2013 after being attacked by inmates at Lahore prison.
He was convicted of terrorism and espionage by a Pakistani court in 1991 and sentenced to death. However, the government suspended his execution indefinitely in 2008.
After his death, Sarajit’s body was taken from Lahore to Amritsar, where his final ceremony was held.
