Telangana minister KT Rama Rao ‘appalled’ by Nirmala Sitharaman’s actions with officials – Flying Journals

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman denounced a collector who could not provide answers.

Hyderabad:

Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao expressed shock at Federal Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s condemnation of a regional tax collector for failing to answer the central and state government’s share of rice supplied through fair price shops.

Mr Rama Rao, colloquially known as KTR, said such behaviour by those in senior positions would only “de-motivate hard-working AIS officers”.

“I am appalled by the unruly behaviour of FM @nsitharaman with the District Sheriff/Kamareddy collector today”, Mr Rama Rao said in a tweet on Friday night.

“These political performances on the streets will only demoralize hard-working AIS officials,” he added.

“I salute @Collector_KMR Jitesh V Patil’s dignified conduct of IAS,” he further tweeted.

While inspecting a PDS ration shop in Birkoor, the federal minister also asked Jitesh Patil why the photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was missing.

Ms Sitharaman said that since March-April 2020, the centre has been providing rice priced between Rs 30 and Rs 35 for free at no cost to the state government and beneficiaries.

As part of the BJP’s ‘Lok Sabha PravasYojana’, Ms Sitharaman has participated in various projects in the Zaheerabad parliamentary constituency in the state.
